Cranberry-lychee party punch

This cranberry-lychee party punch is a vibrant, ruby-red refreshment. A mixture of cranberry, vodka (optional), and orange, with creepy-cool lychee eyeballs floating on top, it’s the perfect way to thrill your guests and set the spooky mood.

What’s the secret weapon of every truly epic party? It’s not just the food, it’s the drink! Specifically, a drink so show-stopping and fun that everyone will be talking about it. And let’s be real, Halloween is the absolute best excuse to craft a beverage that is both bloody delicious and wickedly creative.

Say hello to your new seasonal drink: the Cranberry Party Punch. This isn’t just a basic mixer; this is a vessel for all things spooky, gross, and fun. It’s a vibrant, ruby-red elixir that perfectly captures the spirit of the season. But be warned: this punch will be watching you, and maybe even trying to give you a frosty little high-five!

The real magic is to transform a simple punch into a cauldron of fun. I’m talking about creepy, cool, and completely edible garnish: floating lychee eyeballs. Are you intrigued yet? You should be!

The Lychee Eyeballs

You don’t need to visit a special store for these. They are simply lychees! The translucent, white fruit is perfect for mimicking the look of an eyeball. To complete the gruesome garnish, stuff a blueberry or a small grape into the center of each lychee for the pupil. Fabulous, right?

Canned lychees are often the best option: easy to prepare, consistent in size, and spooky-perfect for stuffing with blueberries or grapes. They are more opaque and uniform than fresh ones, but still pleasantly juicy and sweet with a floral note. Because of their slightly softer texture, you can slip a blueberry inside without tearing the lychee.

This whole process is so easy, simple, and bloody ingenious! A punch like this, whether you make it alcoholic for the adults or a completely virgin version for the whole family, will become the undisputed hit of the night (right alongside those scary-good Halloween snacks). Get ready to make a great impression and enjoy the screams!

This Cranberry Party Punch is endlessly adaptable. In fact, serve it as a spooky cocktail with a splash of vodka for the adults, or keep it as a virgin mocktail so the whole family can join in the fun. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic variations are absolutely delicious and perfect for Halloween.

Here are some Halloween snack ideas for you: brown butter plum financiers, colourful monster jelly doughnuts, beautiful cherry-ginger eye pies, pizza of the death, or marbled deviled eggs.

Ingredients for 2-4 glasses of cranberry-lychee party punch:

  • 700 ml cranberry juice
  • 20-25 lychees ( canned, keep the juice)
  • 20-25 blueberries
  • 100 ml lychee juice (from the can)
  • 200 ml ginger ale
  • 1 small orange
  • 200 ml vodka (optional)
Cranberry juice is perfect for "bloody" cocktails. With the addition of litchi and blueberries is simply legendary.
Cranberry juice.

Begin by creating the eyeballs. Wash the blueberries. Place one blueberry (with the little crown facing you as the pupil of the eye) in each lychee. Fill each glass with 5-9 lychee eyeballs (depending on the glass size).

In a pitcher or some other glass container, combine cranberry juice, lychee juice, ginger ale, and vodka (if using). Pour the cranberry punch over the lychees to fill up the glass. Cut the orange and add a squeeze on top of each drink.

Finally, fill up the glass with cranberry-lychee party punch and “eyeballs” for the super spooky effect. No matter what kind of “monster” you are, you are going to love it.

Cheers!
