I like eggs. No matter in which way they are prepared. But I must say I love boiled eggs. Everyone can boil an egg. Right? I like it when the yolk is still soft and runny. I also tried to poach an egg in the transparent foil for food. A great method and the great thing is that you don’t need to peel it and that you can add anything you like the most. You can add different herbs, cheese, pepper, salt and so on. But I am going to explain more about that some other time. In this recipe I just made a boiled egg look more gorgeous. In fact, I made a romantic heart shaped egg; perfect for a romantic meal or on Valentine’s Day
How to do it:
Prepare these three things; a piece of cardboard (cut off a piece of carton package), a long round stick or a round chopstick and 2 rubber bands. Get ready to mould an egg with a very easy method, which is very popular in Japan.
I cut off a piece of the box for the apples. It was ca 30 cm long and 7 cm wide. Clean it and bend in half (lengthwise). Prepare also a piece of baking paper (10×10 cm).
Boil an egg. Try first with a single egg. I am saying this because the egg needs to be warm when you reshape it. If you boil more eggs, probably they will get cold, while peeling and shaping it for the first time. Use a fresh and warm egg when you do this because otherwise, the egg might break.
When the egg is hard-boiled, peel it, while still warm. Take the carton piece, place the baking paper in the middle and the egg on top of it.
Take the chopstick or any stick you use and place it on the egg. Put rubber bands on both ends of the construction. Like that the chopstick will put a slight pressure on the egg. Leave it like that for at least 10 minutes.
Take the rubber bands off and cut the egg in half. Serve the “egg hearts” with a salad, or as a side to a steak. Your choice for which meal you will use it.
This heart shaped egg is perfect for any occasion, but especially for Valentine’s Day or for a romantic dinner. Be creative and show some love with the shape of the food.
Enjoy!
