Gnocchi with fruits.

Gnocchi with fruits

This dish will make you smile. Gnocchi with fruits is a joy for your eyes and for your taste buds as well. What do you think about this combo? I find the combination very innovative and interesting. This is a simple and quick dish, which includes only a few ingredients.

I didn’t bother making my own gnocchi (which I am going to make one day, I promise). The supermarkets offer almost everything these days and if you take a good look you’ll find also some delicious gnocchi. So, yes, I bought them. But, instead of buying plain ones, I took the ones with cheese. I thought cheese will be a nice surprise. And at the end, cheese and fruits go perfectly together.

Ingredients for 3-4 portions of gnocchi with fruits:

  • 600 g gnocchi
  • 400 g berries (frozen or fresh)
  • 150 g grapes (or other fruits)
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 60 g nuts (any of your choice)
  • 5 Tbsp of honey
  • 1 Tbsp of butter

Start with roughly chopping the nuts. Mix them together in a small bowl with 1-2 spoons of honey and sour cream. This sour cream dip goes great with the warm fruits and gnocchi. Wash the fresh grapes or any other fruit that you want to use and gently dry them with a paper towel.

Next, prepare two frying pans. Put the rest of honey in one pan. Then add the berries and other fruits to it and cook for about 7 minutes or until the fruit juice starts to simmer. Cover and keep warm. Now it’s gnocchi time! Put the butter in the second pan. Once it starts melting, add the gnocchi and fry them for about 8 minutes or until golden-brown.

Waw! This is a super quick dish!

Serve the gnocchi with fruits on a beautiful sunny day for lunch or dinner. Don’t forget the sour cream dip and maybe a glass of wine or a nice refreshing drink. Aren’t you smiling yet?

Enjoy!
