A nice smoothie bowl is a good way to give your body some healthy vitamins. Call it a trend, but I think smoothie bowls are the most satisfying healthy meals made in a couple of minutes. This time I made a blueberry smoothie bowl. Blueberries are tasty and filled with vitamin C. And I think you all like them as much as I do.
In addition to blueberries, I used also some frozen fruits and fresh nectarines. As usual, I selected six yummy toppings, which give a nice touch to the meal. I can describe them with these words: crunchy, sweet and fresh. You can create any combination that you like. You can’t go wrong and it will never get boring.
Ingredients for 2 portions of blueberry smoothie bowl:
- 1 frozen banana (cut)
- 100-150 g frozen mix berries
- 100 g frozen grapes
- 150 g blueberries (fresh)
- 2 nectarines
Toppings for the blueberry smoothie bowl:
- sesame seeds
- hemp seeds
- shredded coconut flakes
- honey
- 150 g blueberries
- a couple of strawberry mint leaves
Prepare a blender and wash the fresh fruits and berries. I always freeze different fruits (banana, mango, peaches, strawberries and grapes), which can be very practical. You can use them throughout the whole year. And I prefer to cut the fruits before freezing them. Sometimes I also buy the mix of frozen berries. They are really delicious. Not only can you use them for smoothies, but also as a snack or in a refreshing drink.
Let’s go back to our blueberry smoothie bowl. Put the frozen grapes and the frozen banana pieces in the blender glass. Then add the fresh fruits (just remove the pit from the nectarines, no need to peel) and at the end the frozen berries.
Blend for 30 seconds. Scrap down on the sides, if the fruits don’t slide down the glass. I didn’t use any milk or yoghurt. This smoothie is pure fruit! Once the texture gets smooth, pour the fruit mixture into two bowls.
What do you think of this topping selection? Sesame and hemp seeds (rich in vitamin E and zinc) for the crunch, fresh blueberries for the fruitiness, coconut flakes for the exotic kick, strawberry-mint for freshness and honey for the sweetness. Sounds like a great combo, right?
This blueberry smoothie bowl is perfect for a great start of the day or as a healthy dinner, delicious on a cold or sunny spring day.
Enjoy!
