Spinach banana smoothie bowl.

Spinach banana smoothie bowl

The weather has been acting funny lately. To prevent any sneezing and coughing surprises, I made a delicious spinach banana smoothie bowl. This smoothie bowl will bring you a bunch of benefits regarding your health.

Spinach is loaded with amazing things for every part of your body. That’s why Popeye loves it so much. Heheh. Apart from spinach, there is the banana. Despite being full of vitamins and potassium, banana is also a good anti-depressive and at the same time helps you improve your mood and sleep. I also used kiwi as a topping. Kiwi is a heart-healthy fruit and is also proven to fight against digestive illnesses.

Hopefully, I was convincing enough how good this smoothie bowl is for your body. But there are more healthy ingredients in it. Try it, make your selection of toppings and stay healthy.

Ingredients for 2 portions of spinach banana smoothie bowl:

  • 2 handfuls of fresh spinach
  • 1 frozen and 1 fresh banana
  • 150 ml yoghurt
  • 100 ml almond milk (or as much as needed)
  • 1 kiwi

Toppings:

  • 2 kiwis
  • chia seeds
  • hemp seeds
  • coconut chips (unsweetened)
  • homemade granola

Prepare the blender. Wash the spinach and let it drain. Peel the kiwis and cut two of them into round 5mm thick slices. I am always careful that no “harry” skin is left on the kiwis. This is it. The blender will do the rest.

Place the bananas, spinach, yoghurt, kiwi and almond milk into the blender. Pulse the mixture for 30 seconds. If it’s too thick, simply add some more almond milk. I like the smoothies to be a little bit thicker. Like that the toppings stay on top and they don’t sink like stones to the bottom of the bowls.

Take two bowls and divide the spinach banana smoothie between them. Start arranging the toppings. Show your artistic skills. Place the kiwi slices. Sprinkle some chia and hemp seeds (rich in omega-3 fatty acids) and add the homemade granola. Granola is super easy to make. Best thing is to make a larger quantity of it and keep it in an airtight container.

Finally, add the coconut chips to your spinach banana smoothie bowl. That will add the crunch. I learned that the crunch always makes a difference in any dish; sour or sweet. And it’s always a great add-on.

Enjoy!
