Tutti frutti and sausage

Tutti frutti and sausage

This recipe offers you fruits, meat and more meat on one plate. We all know how delicious a sausage can be. But it can be even more delicious with bacon wrapped around it. More flavour to the flavour. And as a side dish, I made something a little different this time. Not a vegetable plate, not even rice or potato. Just simply fruits. I took what I had at home and bought some fresh strawberries and raspberries. Because of the fruit mix and the specific meat, I called this dish “Tutti frutti and sausage”. Try it and you will be amazed.

Fruits go perfectly with any meat.

Ingredients for 3:

  • 6 sausages
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 tsp of Ghee
  • 1 apple
  • 6-10 strawberries
  • 100-150 g raspberries
  • 1 Tsp of cranberries (dried or fresh)
  • 2 green chilis

Start preparing the pan and the sausages. Put some Ghee in the pan and turn the stove on. Wrap one slice of bacon around each sausage. Put the wrapped sausages in the pan and brown them on all sides.

Preheat the oven to 200º C. Take two small baking trays. Check if they both fit in the oven on the same rack. Cover both with a sheet of baking paper. In the first one put the sausages and place it directly on the middle rack in the oven for 20 minutes.

In the second tray go the fruits. First, wash and clean them. Cut the apple in wedges. The strawberries I only cut off the top and left them as a whole. Put everything on the tray, including the cranberries and the chilis.

After the sausages have been in the oven for 20 minutes, it is time to put the second tray in there. Place it next to the sausage tray. If you don’t have two small trays just add the fruits to the sausages and leave everything in for 10 more minutes.

Serve with some horseradish. It goes perfectly together with “Tutti frutti and sausage”.

Enjoy!
